Questions:

What do I do when I get a Proofpoint End User Digest email?

How do I release an email caught by the Proofpoint filter?

Answer:

You get an End User Digest when Proofpoint, WSU's email protection service, moves suspected spam messages to your personal Proofpoint Quarantine.

In the digest, click Release and Allow Sender to deliver the message to your Outlook inbox, add the sender to your Safe Senders List, and automatically report that the message is not spam.

You can also click Release to deliver the message to your Outlook inbox and automatically report that the message is not spam. You can then decide manually add the sender to your Safe Senders list if appropriate.

After 30 days, quarantined emails are permanently deleted from the system. If you have not received an end-user digest, Proofpoint has not identified spam or bulk email attempting to reach your inbox.
